Your Questions, Answered

  • The best way to contact me is through email. Being that I am in and out of sessions most of the day, I rarely can pick up the phone when it rings. Emailing me with convenient times to talk, what your goals are for therapy and your insurance information will ensure a smoother process for scheduling a free 15 minute consultation call.

  • We will discuss your therapy goals, treatment history, scheduling information and just chat to make sure we are a good fit for one another. If it doesn’t seem like we would be a good match, I will be happy to provide referrals for other therapists who would match your needs.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

  • EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or homework between sessions. EMDR supports the brain to resume its natural healing process. It is designed to process traumatic memories in the brain, so the person is informed by these memories but not controlled by them. Part of the therapy includes alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.
